Food & Friends prepares, packages and delivers meals and groceries to nearly 1,000 people living with HIV/AIDS and other life-challenging illnesses such as breast, lung and colon cancer throughout Washington, DC and 14 counties of Maryland and Virginia.

Metro TeenAIDS

During its fifteen years of service to the Washington, DC area, Metro TeenAIDS has provided education programs and prevention resources to over 150,000 young people, family members, and youth workers in Washington, Maryland, and Virginia. Contribute now to Metro TeenAIDS.

The following is a note from Adam Tenner, Executive Director of Metro TeenAIDS:
When Metro TeenAIDS re-applied for 2004 funding from the federal government in a recent 5-year granting cycle, we discovered that the Center for Disease Control (CDC) decided not to fund any youth programs in Washington, DC. This is unfortunate as Washington, DC has the highest rate of new AIDS cases in the country! What this means is that the DC Metro area will suffer a loss of $1M less per year for prevention of HIV infections among youth; Metro TeenAID's share of that will
be $250,000.

Whitman-Walker Clinic

The Whitman-Walker Clinic is a non-profit community-based health organization serving the Washington, D.C. metropolitan region. Established by and for the gay and lesbian community, the clinic is comprised of diverse volunteers and staff who provide or facilitate the delivery of high quality, comprehensive, accessible health care and community services. Whitman-Walker Clinic is especially committed to ending the suffering of all those infected and affected by HIV/AIDS. Whitman-Walker also offers important mental health and addiction treatment services.
