As America's largest gay and lesbian organization, the Human Rights Campaign provides a national voice on gay and lesbian issues. The Human Rights Campaign effectively lobbies Congress; mobilizes grassroots action in diverse communities; invests strategically to elect a fair-minded Congress; and increases public understanding through innovative education and communication strategies.

HRC is a bipartisan organization that works to advance equality based on sexual orientation and gender expression and identity, to ensure that gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender Americans can be open, honest and safe at home, at work and in the community.

Log Cabin Republicans

"Log Cabin Republicans is the nation's largest gay and lesbian Republican organization, with over 50 chapters across the country, a national office staff in Washington, DC. and a federal political action committee which raises $100,000 per election cycle for Republican candidates.

Log Cabin was founded to battle the nation's first anti-gay ballot measure -- California's Proposition 6 in 1978. The first Log Cabin activists enlisted Ronald Reagan to publically oppose the measure, which was then defeated. Since then, Log Cabin Republicans has grown and expanded to become a leading voice on the national stage on behalf of the mainstream concerns of the gay and lesbian community."

National Stonewall Democrats

National Stonewall Democrats (NSD), with more than 70 local chapters, is America’s only grassroots Democratic lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender organization.

"We focus on creating change in three ways: educating the lgbt community about the differences between the political parties; mobilizing the lgbt community to get out to vote on Election Day for fair-minded Democrats; and standing up when Republicans attack our families and our civil rights while we lead the Democratic party to continue improving its record on issues important to our community."
